Castlegar is situated at the confluence of the Kootenay and Columbia Rivers in the southwestern corner of the Kootenay Rockies. It is a mill town that sits in a valley that is steeped in the heritage and culture of the Doukhobors. It is the West Kootenay's commercial service, including the West Kootenay Regional Airport and Selkirk College's main campus. Castlegar is hub-central for exploring life's tickle trunk of outdoor activity in the West Kootenays. Camp, hike, shop, golf, fish, mountain bike, pursue arts and culture, or wildlife watch. Population is about 9000.
Our congregation recognizes the incredible sacrifice God made by His Son Jesus in ending the strangle hold of sin over us. He made it possible for us to be a people who live in a love relationship with Him, His Son and the Holy Spirit, at the Father's throne, reflecting the love shared in God, for all mankind. We feel a deep responsibility to obey Jesus commandment to; "Love one another, as I have loved you." This is the challenge we pursue. We see our hope in the Trinity life which is the essence of the statement: "God is love!"
